|Woon completed her Ph.D. from Curtin University in global optimization. Her research focuses on solving a special class of optimal control problems, known as discrete-valued control problems, by using discrete filled function technique in conjunction with computational optimal control algorithm to obtain a near global solution. This recently developed global optimization tool has been applied to solve some applied science problems, which include but not limited to renewable energy, sensor scheduling, and transit path problems. Prior to this, she has worked on supply chain management, mathematical education, and social research. Woon is keen to further explore her research works in optimization and mathematical modelling to solve real world problems. She received funding from University Utara Malaysia and Ministry of Education Malaysia to work on her research. She has published a number of notable articles in prominent applied mathematics journals, such as Applied Mathematics and Computation as well as Optimal Control Applications and Methods.
