Overview
I work in the field of Educational Psychology. My research interest lies mainly in the area of literacy, of which I study according to Sociocultural Theory and Constructivist perspective. I am particularly inclined towards research to understand social phenomena, and thus align myself with mainly interpretive (qualitative) research approaches. I work closely with school teachers to facilitate learning and literacy, particularly in English among mid-adolescent low achievers. My research interest has recently been extended to include academic literacy among postgraduate students and alternative practices (i.e. online learning) and understanding resilience among adult learners. I have been involved in various research activities under the FRGS, KTP and Ministry of Higher Education grants.
